This transition from winter to spring
Oh, the weather I wish it would bring…
Is this the same for you?
Of course, each of us is so different in our preference.
I met a local shop owner who loves the cold
Even though he’s from Yemen, which is warm!
Another friend says that snow is romantic.
An extended family member adores the
Hot and humid days of summer in Florida.
She’ll have to wait a few months…
Currently, we are in transition: uncertain as the
US political situation and March weather in New York –
Fahrenheit days of 60 degrees
Followed by periods in the teens and twenties – welcoming snow.
Will crocuses that dare show their delicate, lovely
Faces be crushed?
I send them loving, protective energy…
Learning to bend as the snow-laden willow,
I walk carefully and deliberately on the ice: left over
Cloud-like cakes from last week’s storm.
Keeping my balance and flexibility sustains me.
My winter coat expects to keep me warm
As I patiently await the resurgence of warmer air
To kiss my face…
On this first day of spring,
I wish you joy and light,
Speak to you on April 3rd,
Linda
