It was a Sunday morning in July – just after 6 am – when I looked through my bedroom window to see what I would call a Van Gogh kind of sky – blue with thick strokes of cloud gray. I could feel the daubs of paint – such an inspiration so early on this cool summer day.
Sunday Practice –
Sundays include my 2+ mile stride with a walking group (men and women) through Prospect Park. We chat as we step amidst the beauty of our surroundings, a lovely way to begin a new week. I could call it a Walk and Chat! We see a variety of romping dogs in all shapes, sizes and colors. They are happy to be free in the Meadow, chaperoned by their guardians who enjoy the collective scene reminiscent of folks and their canines in the 1800s. My custom is to observe this grand public display with nostalgia…It has its own energy: joyful and animated.
Food & Fun –
This day, I will shop, briefly, at the Park Slope Food Co-op and see a film at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Time for Reflection-
Summer is a time to relax and focus on nature, a time I use to focus inward – that quiet
space inside all of us when we discover it. As we know, the journey is an inward one, moving us to the core of where Creator resides in love, in each cell. This is an amazing presence!
I’m easier on myself during summer – less work and more play! What about you? Do you move differently during summer? Do you take in the presence of nature – to nurture and recharge you? Does the sun remind you of a time from your childhood when life was simpler?
Oh, I can’t say enough about summer, the one season that seems to grace us with her presence and leave so quickly…
Let’s enjoy every moment of this blessing called s u m m e r…
Love, Light & Peace,
-Linda
